The easiest way would be to click on the Order Form link, fill it out, and return it to Nostalgia By Nina with your materials and initial payment. You may also contact us by email to set up a consultation, and we will be happy to go over all the particulars, answer all of your questions, and help you fill out the order form. We are always here to help you make this an easy and enjoyable experience.

Scan your photos at home or at a local photo processing lab. We recommend PNG format, but can accept JPG as well. For optimal results, ensure the resolution is at least 300 dpi for most photos, and 600 dpi for 3×5 and 4×6 photos. Larger photos can be scanned at 300 dpi, while smaller photos require higher resolutions (up to 800 dpi). Name your files with sequential numbers (e.g., 001.png) and share them with us via Google Drive or mail them on a CD, memory card, or USB drive.

For reference:

• Photographs 3×5 and 4×6 should be scanned at a minimum of 600 dpi
• Photographs 5×7, 8×10, 11×14, and larger should be scanned at a minimum of 300 dpi
• Photographs smaller than 3×5 should be scanned at a minimum of 800 dpi.
• If these minimums are not met, your photographs may appear grainy and out of focus.

You most likely already have some photographs in mind that you would like to see included in your photo montage video. Keep the following in mind when either narrowing down the number of photographs or broadening the number of photographs.

• Select those photos that have sentimental value or are very meaningful.
• Select those photos that exhibit character or personality of the photographed subject(s).
• Select those photos which capture candid moments or the accidental beauty of life.
• Select those photos that memorialize important and significant moments in life.
• Select a mixture of both close ups of individuals and group shots.

Select more horizontal shots, landscape photographs, or panoramic views instead of vertical shots because the horizontal, landscape, and panoramic shots fill a television screen more completely than a vertical shot will.  However, vertical shots are fine to use so long as they are spread throughout the photo montage video. Our artisans will craft them in such a way that makes up for their “television shortcoming”.

Avoid selecting photos that are too similar (with few changes from one photograph to another such as group photos with subjects just moved to a different position).

Avoid selecting photos that do not contain a human subject. This of course will depend on the nature of your photo montage video. If you want to capture a personal life’s work in photography, for example, this could result in a number of photographs without any human subjects.

Avoid selecting photos that are very small or out of focus.

Please place your materials in the order you would like to see on the photo montage video for the best possible results. You can number the photos accordingly. You would be the best person to select the order for your photographs, because you know the order that makes the most sense. If the photographs and home movies are not numbered so as to depict any specific order, we will do our very best to place them in order chronologically or by theme.

The two best methods for selecting the order for your photographs is chronologically or by theme. Chronologically may refer to the time when the photographs were taken or may refer to the order in which the events took place, for example: delivery room preparation, birth, first feeding, going home from the hospital. If you are selecting by theme, group photos of similar theme together, for example: dating, proposal, wedding, reception, honeymoon.

These should be the best photographs in your collection that capture the overall theme of your photo montage video. These may have titles or captions overlaid on them and may appear for the longest amount of time.

Absolutely yes, you may! As long as these are digital and labeled with the appropriate number to indicate their location on the photo montage video, there is no problem including these items. The videos should be in mp4 file, to be used in your photo montage video. Please bear in mind that they will replace a specific number of photographs in the packages as well as carry a small additional cost.

As long as these clips have already been converted to digital format, Nostalgia By Nina will not be able to accommodate these items. At the current time, we only deal with digital images and digital movies to keep costs low.

We recommend that you number your digital photographs and digital home movies in the order you would like them presented on your photo montage video. Save them to a cd-rom, SD memory card, or flash drive and mail them to us using carriers that can track your shipment, such as the United States Postal Service (USPS), United Parcel Service (UPS), Federal Express (Fed Ex), or DHL. All these carriers should be able to pick up your package from your home as well. Another option is to upload your files on Google Drive and share them with us.

Absolutely yes, they will be returned if needed. Upon receiving final approval and completed payment, your materials will be shipped back to you in the same condition as they were received along with your completed project. We, however, cannot be responsible for the condition of your materials while they are in transit. For this reason, we will ask that you sign a waiver that absolves us,  Nostalgia By Nina of any responsibility while your materials are in transit. 

Absolutely yes, you may! Just tell us what you would like to include in which photo. However, please keep in mind that these should be kept to a minimum if possible. Short and sweet is a good rule of thumb with regards to the use of text on photographs. Audiences usually would prefer to enjoy the photographs and home movies instead of reading about each and every photograph. Use these to simply explain something that may not be entirely clear to your viewers or accentuate an important photograph or part of a photograph.
